Update after 20 months: Clock is dead. The battery will be dead within 5 hours if the device is not in GPS mode. Would be happy to get an hour in GPS mode. This is my second consecutive Garmin device that has died about 20 months after purchase and I have serious doubts about the reliability and quality of the Garmin devices. From this point of view. Pros: Smaller, looks like a regular watch on my thin runner wrist. Smartwatch Features. The heart rate monitor is actually useful, always on and seems to measure accurately while running. Add widgets. Stress monitoring is an interesting idea and works well. - Customizable watch faces. - The battery life is much better than I expected. Cons: - The strap picks up dirt/dust/sweat stains fairly easily. you can view your heart rate in real time. Measuring your resting heart rate is not what most expect. All in all this is a very good watch. A big upgrade from the 225, as you would expect when moving from the 200 series to smartwatches to the 600 series. To be honest I had to be a bit picky to find cons and this list keeps growing shorter while I learn how to use the watch , and software updates improve functionality. The GPS/running features while running work in a very familiar way while at the same time creating a lot more tracking capabilities. The extra tracking probably won't make a difference for those of us who've learned to listen to our bodies, but it's fun to backtrack and quantify what we felt as we ran. Kind of an afterthought to make sure we're not crazy, and maybe a way to quantify those things. Smartwatch features are very good. As a techie, I particularly like the additional apps that you can install. It's pretty cool to be able to control things like smart home from my watch. All-day stress tracking and heart rate monitoring are good. I'm a bit surprised at what stress tracking can pick up. I caught a cold right after receiving the watch and was able to track my cold with stress tracking. I'm not really telling myself anything that I didn't already know by listening to my body, but like tracking on the run, it's a way to see afterwards that I'm not crazy and to quantify it to a certain extent how important stress is . was. Given its smaller size, I was concerned about battery life, especially with 24/7 heart rate monitoring. As it turns out, the battery life exceeds 225, even though I always had the heart rate monitor turned off at 225. Even with 7-8 hours of running per week, I can regularly get 5-6 days on one charge. My biggest downside is that "resting heart rate" isn't what most of us have been taught to call resting heart rate. Instead of measuring your lowest heart rate during the day, it measures your average heart rate while you sleep. So, although my heart rate often dips to 40 and even 30 seconds, my "resting heart rate" is usually around 50 according to Garmin already throwing at this clock, it would be nice to have another basic and meaningful number Note: I did not receive the "music" version.
