I bought these inexpensive polishers to clean and polish 30 year old stainless wire hubcaps with lots of brake dust and dirt. I started using Mothers Metal Polish (good stuff) as well as Mothers Power Cone and Power Ball. But the wire caps destroyed the Power Cone and Power Ball, which cost about $25 each. I bought these inexpensive cones and pads ($15) knowing the spokes and wheel hub parts would destroy them. They worked great and lasted much longer than expected. For the money and the specific project they were perfect. NOTE: The mother's products were good too, but not for this extreme polish.
