Revain kindly let me know I've bought this filter 9 times since 2016. I wish it was more consistent with that orange filter particle. Sometimes this stuff ends pretty quickly; other times it takes forever. Because of this discrepancy, I no longer drink water that comes directly from the filter tower. Rather, I use it to fill a polyurethane tank that I keep in the fridge and rely on the polyurethane filter to filter out the orange particles. If you have enough clean water and are willing to put in a lot of effort, this filter can serve as an additional filter layer. But if you have poor water quality and can't (or don't want to) jump through those extra hoops, I don't think you can rely on this filter alone.
