Review on πŸ–₯️ Waveshare 5.5inch HDMI AMOLED 1080x1920 Monitor with Capacitive Touch Screen, Toughened Glass Cover, and Multi-System Compatibility - Perfect for Raspberry Pi4 and Mini PCs by George Santana

Revainrating 4 out of 5

5.5 WORKS with Raspberry Pi but not out of the box

Edit 2: I really liked Waveshare for their hardware but now I like them for their answers to inquiries and concerns. I'll give you another star. Their time zone is different from mine, but they came back to me every night with updates and suggestions. Edit 1: I'm updating my review because I messed up. This screen will be in Supplied in a box with foam cut outs for shipping. Didn't realize there was a small piece of styrofoam stuck in the HDMI output jack. I was able to pull the foam out very gently with tweezers and bingo! It works. I'm still having some screen issues. This is the most beautiful compact panel i have ever seen the problem is in the documentation they really don't exist the wi ki has a doc to fix basic issues like splash screen, touch rotation etc. Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about contacts. Also, this document was not affiliated with Amazon and you cannot get this panel to work on the Pi without modifying the config.txt in /boot/ with the text from this document. This is frustrating because I know there should be pins for power, ground, and maybe even audio out for speakers. However, nothing is labeled and there is no documentation for pins, so I can only use the headphone jack for audio and am forced to be powered via micro-USB. This really limits creating a wearable design. However, this is a great ad. This is the best panel I've ever bought and I've probably bought a dozen by now.
