You will need oil (motor oil or similar) to lubricate and cool the rollers. Carefully cutting out the exhaust will take time and patience, but it can be done. I cut two pieces and the rolls stayed sharp. If you try to cut the exhaust pipe in place, you most likely won't be able to thread the chain through the gaps, and you may not even have enough room to rotate the tool to cut the entire pipe.
