A big step back in comfort

My old car used to have Q-Towers. Yakima didn't make Q-Clips for my 2018 Camry. I had to "upgrade" and the tower. To remove the old Q-Tower design from the car, all I had to do was unlatch them, lift four latches, and the cradle was ready for removal. These towers are a big step back in terms of comfort. To remove them you must: 1) unlock them, 2) remove the covers (you now have four extra pieces to keep track of), 3) use a hex key to loosen the 2 screws in each turret (so loosening all Adjustments made during installation, 4) Refit the covers to avoid losing them, 5) Carefully remove the special hex key to adjust the torque so it is accessible for reinstallation. Do you understand? Removing and reinstalling these new supports requires a lot more work than the old design. Despite selecting the best JetStream aero bars for these towers, these bars create significant wind noise when mounted on a vehicle. . My old fairing bar made less wind noise than this fancy new (more expensive) aero bar. I've been a longtime fan and user of Yakima handlebars and accessories since the early 1990's. The struts match the new aero bars. I know I can buy round bar adapters for these towers and still use all of my old accessories. I can still do this as the aero bars don't offer any wind noise benefits.
