The turrets work well and do what they were designed to do.

The towers work fine and do what they are supposed to. My problem was in the instructions for everything. I work in a body shop and have over 12 years of automotive experience. I'm by no means new to wearing different types of accessories. These were the most confusing directions I have ever had the misfortune to follow. Stance went well but be prepared for some escalation. With better guidance, this would be a 5 star rating. You dropped the ball, Yakima.

These fit my Honda HR-V with matching base clips. I really like that this set attaches to the bare roof. Setting up the whole system took about an hour and a half to two hours. The base clamps came with all the pitch control and toe adjustments included so following the instructions was pretty easy. Measure everything carefully and everything will be fine. I almost didn't buy it because some reviews talked about the difficulty of installation, but I watched the installation video and found it…

To remove the old Q-Tower design from the car, all I had to do was unlatch them, lift four latches, and the cradle was ready for removal. These towers are a big step back in terms of comfort. To remove them you must: 1) unlock them, 2) remove the covers (you now have four extra pieces to keep track of), 3) use a hex key to loosen the 2 screws in each turret (so loosening all…

Long Yakima fan sadly disappointed

Yakima BaseLine Yakima CoreBar Adjustable Clamp Rail System 50" Yakima Base Clamp (148 & 150) I am a longtime Yakima customer and this is the fourth roof rack system I have purchased from them for the past 30+ years.I originally chose Yakima because it was made in the US and Thule, their only competitor at the time, was not. This is no longer a factor as Yakima systems are no longer made in the US I have also found that the round bars on the original Q-Tower are easier to work with than the…
