I've been looking for a way to make my students look like paintings when I don't have free access to water. Here's what I found. As long as I'm happy I liked how it happened and I like the images I created. Even when I had access to water (when using watercolor) or when using tempera paint, my special needs students tended to soak their paper. This seems like a great alternative. Defect. Because of the wording, it was difficult to distinguish the width of the colored sticks (thicker or thinner markings). The first pack I bought had 3 mismatched colors (material has shrunk). And finally, it's expensive! I've managed to find a class pack, but I'm doubtful I'll get permission to purchase it. Although I bought many materials myself, this will not be one of them.
