Review on 🚪 ZIP7.3BCL Peel & Stick Dust Containment Zip Barrier 7ft x 3in Zipper Door - Blue by Zip-Up Products by Smiley Edwards

I was renovating my bathroom removing old tile, walls, concrete cut out and installing mud pans, putty etc with the existing bathroom door in place to keep dust out. Last time I had to remove the main door in order to Making room for a new barn door that I made. It was originally a traditional hinged door with a wooden frame. Since it would be wrong/good to keep the old frame, I ripped out the frame and then treated it with drywall and cornice molding. Working with drywall creates a lot of fine dust, even if you use a vacuum like I do. Since we were still sleeping in our bedroom I used this to control the dust. Who would have thought it would actually work better than a door. Since I had to finish the side wall of the master bedroom around the door, attaching the plastic to the existing wall didn't work. So I built a 2x4 frame that screws to the wall above the door and also to the baseboard (it's easy to fill in a few screw holes). It extended 2 feet beyond the door frame and 2 1/2 feet into the bedroom. This gave me enough room to install the drywall, fillet welds, joint sealer and sand, and also gave me an opportunity to blend the wall texture into the old one. After I had most of the frame built, I attached heavier 4 mil thick plastic from Home Depot. I did this first by laying the plastic on the ground, marking a line and then attaching the zipper. After attaching it, I installed it and it worked great. It's been about two weeks and will end this weekend when I finish this and other "dusty" work. Remarks. I used to work with a very strong/nice 4 mil HDX head from Home Depot, so I knew the tape; Not only painter's tape, but packaging and masking tape also tend to have trouble setting when stress is present, so I wanted something very tacky. I went along thinking that worst case scenario I would have reinforced with tape but once I attached it I realized I wouldn't need it. This tape is very good, didn't have any sticking problems either then or two weeks later. I was also concerned that the zipper itself is quite strong and doesn't let air through. It proved stiff and if you wet your hand in the positive flow of air like I did in my bathroom you can feel a whiff of air but my entire plastic space swelled surprisingly by the way so it was pressure not a clue on dust. through. This made me realize that my door must have let in a lot of dust. Despite this, the tape still held well and the fabric was strong with no risk of tearing. It also comes with 2 zips but with this configuration I knew the bottom vent would allow most of the air to escape and therefore not be able to hold dust. So I decided on a zipper. I was expecting it to be difficult to unzip and get through the door but I had all the gear in the bathroom and only had to get in and out while waiting several nights for the dirt to dry etc. It worked great, but if you need to get gear or supplies in and out, you can use either and comes with a wooden flap at the bottom to keep it closed. My son had a firm grip on one end while I removed the lining and slowly pressed the zipper tape as I walked. It worked fine, but the tape is so sticky you don't want to peel off the backing right away. I then rubbed the surface up and down with a piece of PVC and all was good. I immediately glued the plastic to the newly built frame, then cut the plastic under the zipper and everything was perfect.
