High quality filter and perfect fit. The rubber seal is a big problem. In my opinion it would be better to put a thin layer of sealant on the old one and reuse it. Or - if I had some old school glue like Hi-Tac I could glue it on. The problem is that in order to tighten the screws enough so that they don't fall out, the thin rubber gasket is pushed out no matter how careful you are. Had to redo a job after only 40 miles and it's not a job I want to do again. My Xterra was 120,000 and the original filter was still clean - it's just a wire mesh. So unless you have mud or something else in there, a new filter probably isn't necessary - I just want to drain the oil. ATF and left it alone. All the rubber padding just ruined my day. I think the only reason they stock such a thin pad is so they can roll it up and put it in a tiny box.
