I borrowed this book from my local library and was so amazed by the designs that I added it to my personal knitting collection . It has a wide range of patterns ranging from easy enough for beginners to challenging for experienced knitters. The author has adapted these classic patterns for modern knitters. I really liked that each pattern contained information about the provenance of a particular vest. This book should be on every knitter's shelf. Vests range from easy for beginners to more challenging for experienced knitters. The variety of patterns is impressive. Besides the classic British waistcoat, the Sakiori waistcoat from Japan, the Kasai Irish cardigan and waistcoat are already on my to-do list. I love it so much I've already bought the companion book "People's Bags" by Vicki Square. The photos are wonderful too and help a lot when working with patterns.
