These hoop earrings have a deep groove on the outer hoop and a rib that fits the groove on the inner hoop. The fabric is difficult to put on so that it doesn't move while I try to put the two pieces together. Once it's on, the tongue and groove style means you can't pull on the fabric to tighten it. They also appear to be very cheap. I think you get what you pay for. The small scissors are useful, but they were covered in smelly oil. I had to wash it to use it. i like needles
