Wonderful whetstone and fantastic customer service. Bought last year and have sharpened many chisels and planes and it still works great and the price really couldn't be better. These inserts are deceptively heavy, like a few pounds, and the large work surface is great for using honing guides. Having no experience with diamond stones, I decided to try these "ultra sharp" stones because they were cheaper than the competition, but I am very happy with the product and ultimately the service I received. They work much better/faster than my old whetstones. When I purchased this item last year, I had a small surface defect on the rough side where a small stripe of diamond coating was missing (e.g. 1/16 inch wide by two). inches diagonally), but it didn't cause any real problems. I ended up contacting the seller because I had some concerns/questions about the tiny rust spots that have been developing and how best to prevent them. When I saw minor imperfections in the photo I sent, the seller offered to send me a replacement, although they didn't bother me, what I was most interested in was proper use/care of the stones. The seller was very helpful and I received the Perfect Stone in a few days. later, and since then I haven't had any more problems. If ever my stones didn't perform as well as they do now, I would not hesitate to purchase this item again.
