Dual-Sided Ultra Sharp Diamond Sharpening Review

Although I initially liked this product, it didn't hold up to my relatively low level of sharpening. I purchased this item about 1.5 years ago and while the very thin side still does a great job of finishing the edge, the rough side just doesn't cut like it used to. I've basically given up using it to attach bevels to cutting tools as even that can take hours on small chisels. This stone has been working great since I got it about 6 months ago. Many different types of blades have been revived with both sides of this stone. I am in the leather accessories business and a sharp blade is a must in everything I use. The last few days the results weren't that good and then I noticed that part of the diamond surface on the smooth side had come loose. Wonderful whetstone and fantastic customer service. Bought last year and have sharpened many chisels and planes and it still works great and the price really couldn't be better. These inserts are deceptively heavy, like a few pounds, and the large work surface is great for using honing guides.
