Excellent product at a good price. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the leather's strange black tanning. However, the leather is of good quality and I have had no problems with it. Even when the sling is in use, it still blackens with steel; So perhaps the color was chosen to reduce the psychological impact as the line darkens after use. According to the description, one side is smooth leather and the other is more like suede. My sling had smooth leather on both sides, which I prefer. The skin itself was free from defects and readily absorbed putty paste without heating to adhere the paste to the skin. The leather-covered wooden oar is also a success. I recommend this sling for both quality and price.
