Overall I have to give 5 stars. It basically has pluses, but there is also a small minus. Of course, benefits for those who didn't buy a fully charged MacBook know that you only have 2 Thunderbolt (USB-C) inputs. Well, I needed at least 3 USB and HDMI, which this device perfectly catered for. I had no issues with screen flickering or dimming when connecting HDMI to my old Samsung TV. It was plug and play and it's always great! The device itself looks very nice, classy with a gray color that matches my MacBook almost perfectly (they also offer a silver color). I wish they would add 2 extra USBs instead of sim slots but I can see how they would be useful for other people so I won't judge them for that. However, there was one very disturbing aspect in the construction of the cable that runs from the computer to the device. The cord itself bends well enough to be held in place, but the cord is very strong and wouldn't hold in place without double sided tape. I can see that it doesn't really matter if you have a large desk, but I've been working in very tight spaces and it sticks out a good 8 inches from the side of the computer and if you try to put it in place it will jump out. straight back sticking out straight.
