The photo shows the slippers without ankle straps, but when I received them they were with a strap. It's ok because I can just cut it off later. This is the second one I've bought, the next size up for my son. It is very comfortable, my son loves wearing it. One of the main reasons for buying this particular style is that the rubber on the bottom of the slipper has good traction. They don't slip on wet surfaces either, which is very important as my son has slipped, fallen and hit his head with other slippers before. Although quite expensive for the slippers, it's still good value for me,
