Review on πŸ”Œ Silver Long Shaft 12V DC Dimmer for LED, Halogen, Incandescent - Ideal for RV, Auto, Truck, Marine, Strip Lighting by Roberto Evans

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The LED indicators flicker at the maximum setting and the helpdesk is difficult to reach.

PWM dimmer works well with my RV's LED lights, but needs to be wired to "Easy Connection" if the LED's negative lead is not available. However, when the knob is turned to maximum, the headlights will flash at high speed. I also use PWM LED dimmers from JR Products and American Technology. These dimmers work great and will not flicker the LEDs at any dimmer setting. Finally, I was able to talk to PCA's technical department about the flicker problem at maximum brightness. They said this dimmer is for "low side" wiring and will not flicker when installed in a standard 3 wire configuration. However, flickering occurs when installed in a 2-wire configuration. I only recommend this PWM dimmer for those (like my latest RV setup) who need a dimmer for very small spaces that can handle flickering at maximum brightness, or for those who want it with a standard 3-wire configuration can connect. Do not buy a PWM dimmer for 2-wire applications where you have room for JR or American Technology branded PWM dimmers. (high side dimmer) sold at Revain. Removed the PCA dimmer, installed an ATC dimmer, and now my LEDs no longer flicker when the dimmer knob is set to maximum brightness, YES! I threw my already used PCA dimmer in the trash as I have no other use for a "low side" dimmer.
