Review on πŸ“Ά DPC2100 High-Speed Cable Modem, Compliant with DOCSIS 2.0 Standards by Joshua Days

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have purchased an upgraded model called Webstar, not Cisco

I have already leased a Cisco 2100 from TWC. That is no longer on their recommendation list either. I called and said I have a replacement 2100 and gave me a new MAC address. This address is not within range of Cisco branded devices. They then wanted the model and part number to be acceptable. The Cisco and Webstar numbers are the same otherwise I would return them. Real Cisco model is from 2010, updated from Webstar - 2006, same hardware version, 2.1. Eventually they agreed the modem was fine and added the MAC address to their system. Everything worked fine. So don't tell TWC you have Webstar or they may not authorize it. They were very polite about my new modem and thanked me for my purchase. strange. The modem has been running for 3 days now and is as fast as a new Cisco modem. Average download 15, download 1 according to Speednet. Every night I turn off all my devices and turn them on again in the morning. This older webstar takes about 5 minutes to complete a cycle, Cisco only takes a minute. It bothered me the first time, but everything seems fine.
