Successful replacement of the original alternator on my 04 GT coupe

On my 04 GT coupe the battery light blinked intermittently even with good voltage and the car never stopped starting. The car has 53,000 original miles at 3,000 per year. Since the voltage regulator is built into the alternator and was suspicious, I decided to replace it with the original one (almost 15 years old so it's easy to justify anyway). My problem was gone with a replacement. In new generation Mustangs, the easiest way to replace alternators is right up in the engine compartment. My only issue was that the small plastic clip on the car wire adapter (I was too strong) to the alternator broke, but the connection still holds. Of course, the engine bay looks nice as it's the only clean place. Simple job, works great. Definitely better than the $190 the Autozone store wanted.
