I watched a few videos online on how to replace this and after that I did it. It was about a 10 minute job. I was dealing with a 2000 Toyota Camry that was difficult to start because the key didn't turn often. The situation got worse to the point that almost every time I tried to start the car I had to jiggle or turn the key weirdly and try again and again. Before things got really bad, I decided to just replace the ignition lock cylinder. I was thinking of taking mine off and working on it but it seemed like a lot of fiddling and fitting a new one was very easy. The only downside to replacing it completely this way is that I now have a new key (two came with a new build) for the ignition, but I still need my old key for the trunk (and doors, although I usually use the remote control). . on this).
