I was hoping it would get me another MPG it did and more. I installed it on a 2006 F150 4.2L V6 with 58,500 miles. There were no problems with the installation, everything is very simple. Between the pictures and instructions everything came together as it should. Total installation time was less than 90 minutes from start to finish, including 10 minutes of downtime for the computer to relearn its settings after the battery was disconnected. I've been keeping a record of my mileage since I bought the car 6 years ago and I'm averaging 16.5-17.5mpg before K&N. I've now done 3 tanks since installation and the mileage has been 18.6, 19.3 and 19.2. That's what I was hoping for, but the biggest win was horsepower. Throttle response is much, much better, and acceleration to freeway speeds exceeded anything I expected. Gasoline prices of $4.00 per gallon where I mean payback on a mileage basis alone is less than 6 months. Plus, now you only have to clean and re-lubricate the filter instead of replacing it, saving even more. It really isn't a problem to buy one of these for your car, I wish I had done it many years ago.
