Review on 🔒 Kwikset 99130-002 SmartCode 913 Non-Connected Keyless Entry Door Lock - Satin Nickel by Kino Gerami

Love it, looks great! I got a great price on Revain compared to shopping in stores. I didn't read closely enough when researching and thought the only difference between this 913 and the 914 is the number of key codes you can program. I forgot to check if this has zwave so you can use it with the app, it doesn't. This 913 doesn't support apps like the 914. In the end it's ok, the process difference between the two models is significant and I was hesitant to put my trust in leaving my home vulnerable to SMART Home hackers. So it's just a latch and an inviting latch that adds to the thought that you can return to your house if you forgot your keys inside, or just want your child to be able to come back after their friends if needed. I like that there are multiple codes, but I'm not sure why there are 16 when there's no app support for tracking usage. It seems that 2 codes are enough: 1 for guests, which you remove as needed, and a main code. I just installed this tonight. If there are serious battery life issues, I'll add that information to my review. This is a concern and most likely a reality. Requires 4 AA batteries. I'm not sure how long they will last before needing replacement. However, I have the thought again that if my lock's batteries die, I can still use a physical key with a deadbolt to open the door (assuming I have one). Oh and there is a great extra feature in the device, you can turn on the auto lock feature after 30 seconds which is a very good security feature. Being able to rekey this lock yourself is amazing and the reason I chose this lock over Schlage is that with Schlage I pay a much higher price at the hardware store and have it rekeyed at the time of purchase would have to. otherwise Schlage online would still require me to have a locksmith remake it to match the rest of my access lock key. So the installation was very easy. As easy as any typical/standard deadbolt setup.
