As good as Starrett tools usually are, and expensive as they are, I expected more from this stock. I have similar holders from Milwaukee, Bosch, and Diablo, but I bought this Starrett because it came with a carbide center drill that I could just leave in the box with my diamond core bits. This particular pavilion, as designed, is virtually useless. It was stiff right out of the box so I oiled it and shook it back and forth a few times to loosen it up. If it's a hole saw (also made by Starrett), it's almost impossible to lock the locking pins in the saw without using a tool or hitting the locking ring with a hammer. I used it on two or three holes and then gave up because the job required frequent hole saw changes and this shaft was taking up too much time. I finished the job (24 large diameter holes in limestone) without using the stop pins, but it kept jamming the saws on the mandrel strings, which also wasted a lot of time. Made in China, looks like poor quality control. Lubricate it with oil and try to shape it into a usable shape, otherwise it will come back.
