Original review: The size of the cubes is excellent. They are relatively easy to remove, but I can't get rid of the bad smell. By simply washing the tray, the smell enters the room. The smell permeates the ice and of course your drink. I've tried getting rid of the smell by soaking the vinegar but to no avail so far. Updated rating: I've moved from a 2 star to a 4 star rating. Firstly, soaking in vinegar didn't work, I don't know how it worked for others. I still like the size of the cube and find the cubes fairly easy to remove. The OR problem still bugs me, but I found a solution in another review of an ice tray that I ended up buying. This trick works! Simply place the silicone baking sheet (not the lid) in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Silicon is rated for 500 degrees, maybe more, so it's fine. Let cool, the smell is gone! Simply fill with water to 1/8" or 1/4" from the top, this allows the cube to expand so the lid stays in place.
