Review on 🌑️ Comidox MAX31865 PT100/PT1000 RTD Temperature Thermocouple Sensor Amplifier Board Temperature Detector Module for Arduino - (1 Unit) by Jonathan Abreu

The boards work fine, though.

After soldering the cap. I carefully tested the 3 pads to ensure they would fit my 3 wire PT100 RTD. I was happy to see that they were already set up and that the solder was spilled on all the pads, not just the bridged pads. I installed the RTD connectors and connected the RTD wires. These screw connections are not of high quality. I had to open the hole slightly to allow the wire to go all the way through. I tested both and got -403 degrees Fahrenheit. Pretty sure the room wasn't somewhere around -403 degrees, I checked the installation for errors and found that both modules were faulty and the RTDs were fine. A few days later I decided to take a closer look at the boards. Guess what? At higher magnification I noticed a tiny trace between the pads of "24 3"! The solder on the pads obscured the thin trace and made it appear exposed. I quickly cut the track and you know what? Both work. Incidentally, these boards can be configured for 2, 3, or 4-wire RTDs. The "431" resistor allows the board to work with PT100. "4301" will make it work with PT1000.

Pros
  • Each order includes an assembled RTD amplifier breakout board. Also comes with two 2-pin terminal blocks (to connect to an RTD sensor) and one terminal block (to connect to any breadboard). The required PT100 resistance thermometer is not included in the scope of delivery!
Cons
  • Out of fashion
