If you have a 7" round duct in your home this is ideal. Just buy a damper that slides right over the hood. I couldn't find any of these smaller units with a round duct connection that was available at the local major stores. Only the $200 models had a round stainless steel duct adapter. I bought one just to return it because the expensive ones are too deep, they stick out too much. This is a great economical alternative for those who need stainless steel and a round channel. I noticed the gaps between the metal panels that let light through at the junction. I glued them to the bottom and everything is fine. Most people wouldn't care.
