If you want your pencil to be sharper, you can be very picky! Works best on regular round and octagonal. With colored pencils, the tip is so thin at the top that it always breaks off a bit. The shaving drawer remains tightly closed and is easy to empty. This is a very accurate sharpener. Mine is 6 years old and I use it all the time!
