Bitter (ha) disappointment.

I really wanted to like this and I *hate* not. It's very quick and easy to blend, which I really appreciate. It's thick and a bit grainy, but I expected that and I'm not complaining. It's not overly sweet, which is a miracle for the US. The taste of vanilla is natural, thank goodness. And it fills/supports. Trouble is, there's something bitter about it, and I can't get over it. No matter what flavors I mix in (I had high hopes of making mock horchata with cinnamon and extra vanilla, and chocolate and nutmeg would be excellent), the bitter taste is still there and noticeable. Fewer problems but still not perfect, it kind of tickles my throat. I don't know if it's enzymes or what. It doesn't leave any pain or anything, it's just a weird feeling and not one that I particularly want. Basically, it's bitter, not funny, and pungent like arugula. It's bitter like a pill crushed and mixed with applesauce to cover it and always, always fails.
