I don't know how this modem got good reviews. Here's why: - Poor performance. I replaced this modem with a Motorola MB8611. Arris S33 SNR is 1-2 dB WORSE per channel than MB8611. This has a big impact on the other things listed below. Speed. I have 1GB service with my ISP. With the S33, the fastest speed I've ever had was around 550 Mbps. With the MB8611 I'm at 900 where I should be. Hot. Hot as a flame. Often fails.- LOOK AT MY PICTURES. Compare the Power and SNR columns. Much worse at ARRIS. My environment (cables, etc.) was exactly the same. FYI I have direct access to the cable box without a splitter.
