Great tent! but watch out for the orange straps!

We bought this tent on a whim on Thursday to go camping on Friday I know to do final prep and planning. Anyway, it arrived at my door on Friday afternoon, you can't beat that one day delivery! We were very excited to sleep in this thing but unfortunately we couldn't find a place to camp until Saturday night. So we get to camp, decide where is the best place to park the car and start collecting this pup. First I would like to comment on the design of the tent. The storage bag is really good because when I ripped this tent open the next morning I put everything back into the storage bag with no problem. and we all know that even with some folding chairs, their storage bags are a pain to get back into the bag you literally want to throw in the fire. I was surprised that only 3 poles needed to be installed. and they seemed very well made. The material of the tent itself is of decent quality and the seams held up very well considering I stretched in a few places in the tent during setup. Now for the setting. It took me a few minutes to try to interpret the instructions sewn into the storage bag. To be honest they are not very detailed. which can initially make some more frustrated than others. But I assure you that once set up, you won't need any more instructions. In fact, you can replace class time with sips of your favorite adult beverage because once you set this thing up, you're going nowhere! All in all it took me about 20 minutes to set it up. after figuring out how to put it together. However, I spent a lot of time figuring out what to do with the orange straps on the front of the door. So, like any other normal man, I just skipped that part of the instructions and thought the usual "pfft, I don't need that!”. and that was mainly because the instructions weren't detailed enough to make sense and I say that because of the pictures. After reading what he said, I could understand what he was talking about. When you deploy this bad boy, he fits EASILY in the back of your truck! In fact, I opened the tent door as I was packing it up thinking it would be good to go, but when I tried to close it the tent was so tight that I couldn't close it again. That's when I realized those orange straps I'd missed in the instructions probably had something to do with it, and I was right. So these straps go behind the tailgate and your rear bumper and connect to every bolt you can find to attach them. You have to get on the ground and go under the rear bumper to place it and I will tell you THAT was the hardest part of the installation. The photos don't show the interior very well, but we were surprised to find zippered vents on each side. The tent also has small pockets on each side, for example for a mobile phone or similar, but these could be placed a little higher or even at the back of the tent. For me they were almost directly under the bed of my truck which would make using these bags awkward but that didn't bother me. The tent also has a hanger for a lantern or fan at the top, which is nice too. Can't comment on how this tent performs in the rain because luckily for us it was PERFECT weather while we were away but as I said this SNUG tent fits right on your truck body and has a rain cover on top huh I didn't even bother putting it up, but if I had to bet I'd bet the tent would hold up well. My only complaint about this tent is that it doesn't have a groundsheet. I use my truck for everything from hauling garbage to a landfill to building stuff on the tailgate, so it gets pretty messy. I had to wash the entire bed of my truck before I even thought of putting an air mattress in it. For nearly $200, the company could at least include a tarp to cover the body of your truck. Just my opinion. What we love most about this tent is that it's very easy to set up and take down, making impromptu trips less stressful and more enjoyable!
