My 4 month old rat didn't want anything to do with this thing at first (he really liked his hammock) but after a few days he decided it was a fleece perch. .. fantastic. I like it because I can see him and he loves to sleep upstairs and in him. The only downside, and a small one at that, is that it takes a bit of coordination to attach it to the cage, which would be very difficult with a large cage. that it is not so easy to get there. I wash it in the washing machine with towels and it comes out clean and fresh! I will definitely buy another one as a spare.
