This device was very easy to set up. I have a shed about 1/4 mile from my house that I wanted to hook up ethernet for CCTV cameras etc. I had a Category 5 underground cable installed during construction so I needed a solution to make this work. After some research I came across a VDSL solution, bought it here, installed it and voila, Smart Barn! During a recent thunderstorm, the CO end at the LAN input died. I worked with the supplier to get an additional troubleshooting unit and ended up replacing that unit. It seems that the error is not power related but may have been caused by an induced power surge in my LAN wiring at home. However, I have not lost any other communication devices. On their recommendation I also purchased their TP302 units to provide surge protection for my ethernet wiring for my home LAN. I hope this extra layer of protection provides what I need to weather future thunderstorms!
