I wish this offered more pain relief! This, of course, is not related to this item at all! This is because I won't follow postoperative instructions.The packs hold cold very well. I recommend adding another layer of cloth over the supplied holder before putting it on. Alone, the packs are extremely helpful. I would recommend to anyone recently recovering from joint surgery as I am. The packs are small enough to tuck in the appropriate pressure points or under a propped limb.Effective and portable. Fit the bill perfectly for me.
