Review on Walbro GSS342 Fuel Pump by Dee Rawls

The pump appears to be genuine, which is a good thing. The first one ordered arrived damaged in the connector area. I tried it anyway because it shouldn't have affected its performance. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't just in the connector. The pump didn't hold the pressure. It pumps up to 58psi and immediately drops to zero. This led me to believe that the check valve was also damaged, causing it to leak. I hold the shipping method responsible for this item. It comes in a thin layer of bubble wrap in a Revain bag, making it very prone to damage during shipping. I have a spare pump that seems to work fine, but replacing a fuel pump and the labor involved is never cheap and no one wants to do it more than once. This item would be better shipped to reduce the chance of receiving a damaged product and to minimize the chance of having to pay twice for the labor.
