Given the price of these mics and products from a company I had never heard of, I was a bit skeptical about the quality but was pleasantly surprised when I received the product . As mentioned, they're a little rough/sticky when you first open the package, but once you run them all the way through that goes away. I suspect this is because the grease used in assembly is unevenly distributed. I took the set to work and showed it to our lead mechanic and he checked the standards with his Starrett and they were correct. All devices have been properly calibrated to the supplied standards. Another locksmith asked to take a look, then opened his tool box and showed me an identical set, except that its plastic tag said "Fowler". . He also paid a bit more for his since Fowler's name is well known in the gauge world. So bottom line, they're not as oily, smooth or durable as the Mititoyo or Starrett, but they are accurate and more than suitable for the home mechanic or even the Padowan machinist. A tip for the do-it-yourselfer, whether you buy these or more expensive devices: use a rust preventative or desiccant in your tool box, especially if you rarely use the microphone.
