Review on Creuset Enamel Steel 3 Quart Teakettle by Rich Rickenbaugh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

not well done in the Kitchen & Dining category

I expected more from this brand. What's good about it, what's bad about it: Pros: Heats up very quickly due to the wide, flat base Loud, reliable whistle, audible throughout the house and yard Gorgeous color Reclining handle for easy adding of water and washing Cons: Bad pouring! (wut?!) The gaskets are cheaply made and loosely installed, just a few extra metal rings added to a good pot. The seals began to rust within a few weeks. I am very disappointed with the rust and loose rings. But I noticed that the pot doesn't water well. The kettle doesn't have many functions, and pouring is the second most important task after heating. I've never had a kettle that behaves like this: when boiling, water splashes and splashes in all directions. The kettle is serviceable but not of the quality I expected. I've had much better kettles that lasted a decade for which I paid half the price or even less. I bought mine on sale for less than $60; Now I see the same pot for over $120! No, it doesn't cost that much.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Style 90
