Review on 🟡 Magswitch 8110015 Table Featherboard Universal Model - Efficient Woodworking Tool in Vibrant Yellow! by Jeremy Marshall

Very strong. I use this all the time. I almost never use traditional feather boards on my table saw again.

It was an impulse buy. Saw it when I was buying something else and I had to buy it to see how well it works. Traditional springboards are very comfortable but can be a bit painful. Because you are limited to the miter slot; sometimes it's not enough, and sometimes it's too big and you can't get close enough. I thought this might fix those issues. I've been using it for about 5 months at the time of this review and I LOVE it. The magnets are pretty strong. You can move this thing after it's locked, but you have to push really hard. It holds up very well on my cast iron countertop. This is really handy as you can place it anywhere there is metal on the saw. I keep it in a hacksaw cabinet that's easy to find when I need it. It can be operated with one hand by holding the board in the other hand. This is pretty much the only feather board I use on my table saw. The only time I wouldn't use it is when I'm cutting a very long board myself like 10ft or more and I want to be lazy and not use the feed prop. It can be difficult to control the front of the board when holding it from behind, which can create leverage against the fence and move the magnetic pin board. In this case I could use a conventional corner guide board that I know I can't move. I would buy another one if I saw it on sale just to have it. To be honest I haven't come across a scenario where I needed more than one.

Pros
  • Magwitch Feather Universal Board: Works on both sides of the blade and even off the fence
Cons
  • The list goes on.
