Review on Ubiquiti NanoStation Dedicated Management Loco5AC US by Bai Dang Thi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

I bought myself 2 points of 5AC Loco, one is installed on the 13th floor from a friend, the second is on the roof of a private house, the visibility is direct and without interference, the distance is 500 meters. Naturally, at such a distance, the points work perfectly, in any weather, the signal is stable, there are no breaks in communication, you don’t have to reboot anything - set it and forget it. After setting, the points are hidden from the network, that is, you will not see them in the lists of WiFi networks - this is good. With the setting, everything is also simple, I indicated one as a point, the second as a client and everything works, and the setting can be from the phone, when connected, the point distributes WiFi 2.4Ghz to which you connect, set up the point and after some time the point disappears from the network, the same with the second. The lights were turned off several times, both for me and for a friend, the points were automatically adjusted after switching on, no one had to climb anywhere, tune in, dance with tambourines, etc. The Internet from the provider is 100Mb / s, in the apartment on the wire speedtest shows 90-95Mb / s, in my house when connected directly to the laptop it also shows 90Mb / s plus or minus 2Mb / s, but the Apple Airport Express router fails, writes a warning about double NAT and cuts the speed greatly to 25-30Mb / s, I couldn’t figure out the router settings, maybe it’s them, maybe it’s me, I didn’t understand how to set it up correctly, I’m not particularly competent in this, or maybe the router is already tired Now I'm looking for a replacement. In general, I like the points themselves, the connection is good, there are no breaks and reboots, everything works as if the wire was brought into my house. When buying, be careful! The points are powered by Poe, there are no adapters in the kit, you need to buy it separately!

Pros
  • The quality of communication, the stability of the devices themselves, data transfer.
Cons
  • No Poe adapters included. Well, the lack of information for people who are considered amateurs in the field of IT technologies. I would like to know in advance - can the points work alone (I bought two at once, and the thought of this came later, and perhaps I could save money), if so, then it would not be bad to see detailed setup instructions in an understandable language for "Amateur" , if not, then indicate information about this on the website.
