This is my second Milwaukee tape measure. The first one I bought stopped retiring after less than a year. I'm a plumber by trade so I figured they just can't handle moisture. I lost my house and all my tools in a wildfire. I decided to give Milwaukee another try now that I am building my house and there is no moisture in it to damage the tape. But even that only lasted about 7.5 months. I really liked their small design with long reach. But not with such a short tape life. I had a Stanley Fat Max that I'd had for over a decade that I lost in a fire that took a lot of abuse and still ran almost as smoothly as the day I bought it. So in conclusion if you are a contractor and use your tape a lot otherwise it will get wet. Probably looking for Stanley. If you need a smaller tape measure and only use it occasionally for small measurements around the house, this tape measure might be for you!
