This is my first bike computer and before I bought the Garmin Edge 510 I did a lot of research and compared many makes and brands. I almost bought a Garmin 500 because of all the positive reviews, and while reviews were mixed for the 510 I decided this was the route I wanted to take. Maybe because I could add a heart rate monitor, or maybe because the 510 is connected to both GPS and GLONASS satellites. I'm impressed because it picked up satellites even inside my brick house (although it lost connection when I was moving around the first floor, but reconnected when I climbed the stairs to the second floor), and also under a dense one canopy. I didn't notice any disconnections. I like screens that can be viewed and without my glasses I can easily read them. At first I almost sent this back because I could register my heart rate monitor, but after a bit of searching and thanks to some YouTube videos I figured it out and decided to keep it! So far, so good!
