Literally a week ago I installed it on my 04 Avalanche. My truck had heating/dimming capabilities, but the dimming part failed and started leaking about a year ago. I ended up getting fed up with not being able to use a mirror and bought it. it has no dimming function, so one less error. I think it's good if I dim the lights on the inside and not on the exterior mirrors. This comes with an adapter plug for those of us that have had the auto dimming feature. it is glued on the back. just plug it in and get started. Removing the old mirror was very easy and installing this mirror was even easier. Just click it and it will snap into place. Don't press too hard or you could end up with what some customers complain about if it looks deformed. just push it in until it clicks into place. It's so nice to have your mirror back. Now every time I see it I feel like I put my glasses on"Oh, WOW, I see again!"
