We bought this for Artzi who is 8 years old. Alt. Teaching her how to snap the hook was as easy as watching a more understanding U-tube mom lead us up the stairs. What wasn't great was all the videos that made me think it would be easy was that their canvases had a color coding system, but it didn't, so you just had to count each square. It was time consuming and an art project for her to dig into became a pit stop every time you ask questions before posting a thread. Things I didn't know and things I only half answered because of course that was all while I was making dinner. Do you count half of the outer square? idc.idc. Do you count the one who hears, do you count the one who is there? It was still fun spending time with my kid after all and I was happy to see that she had a good sense of humor and could handle punches because instead of a cute little brownie it looked like a vision of bad LSD -Trip. or maybe that cupcake that fell off when you took it out of the oven and since you've made enough for your daughter's class you should use it and pray the frosting hides the fact that it's puffed up. We ended up ordering another crocheted canvas, the color stated right on it, and I almost longed for the laughs this item elicited from our family. Sometimes you just gotta bake canvas cupcakes and just enjoy life.
