Review on Capri Tools CP10101 C101 Hammer: A Powerful and Versatile Hand Tool for All Your Hammering Needs by Marcus Akram

High quality for dead-blow hammers

A previous reviewer complained about small holes in the rubber. It's a dead sledgehammer, not a work of art, who cares, you hardly see them! As for the hammer, it's great with a lead shot in the middle, it transfers all the energy to the hit object with almost no rebound, it's almost like an instant double hit! However, I am a machinist and use it to force workpieces into vise jaws so they sit flat on the parallels. It works, but even with the whopping 4 pounds I have, you have to hit really hard. I usually use rawhide and it actually takes a lot less effort to get it to fit! Although once I get it out of the way and I start having rebound issues and can't pull both parallels, the deathblow will come into its own. This is not the end, everything will be everything Hammer, this is a tool that comes in handy when I need it. Other Great Uses * Brake discs are rusty, knock them off. * Pliers and Grove * anything where a hammer is needed, but it's very important not to damage or damage it! It is great! For a machinist, I still prefer rawhide, but most agree that a rubber or nylon hammer works best. Stanley makes an orange obi that works great. But it works

Pros
  • Absorbs blows, reduces recoil and increases power with canisters filled with steel shot
Cons
  • Boring packaging
