Kidde Battery Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm

This unit was purchased to replace another carbon monoxide alarm. My old block finally died after seven years. It plugs into the wall, and since power outlets are always available, I went with the battery-powered model. The device is supplied with three AA alkaline batteries, an instruction manual and two screws and anchors if necessary. It stands great on its own so I put it on the dresser. It is very easy to use - slide the back panel, insert the included batteries and slide the panel to close. Press the Test/Reset button and a beep will sound and the number on the digital display will show 888 then roll back to 0 assuming no carbon monoxide is detected. The digital display stays on so the number is always shown, and the tiny green LED flashes intermittently to show the device is working and everything is ok. .The user manual contains information on the correct placement of the device (areas to avoid) as well as a legend explaining the various red and green flashes of light and beeps that indicate normal operation, a true alarm, a low battery, etc. • For smoke detectors, it is recommended that the batteries be replaced annually. Batteries must not be used with the device. I like the permanent digital display and the fact that it's inexpensive and it's small. So when not wall mounted, it can be easily moved from room to room for quick air control.
