I used two sets of 205/55/16 ContiPremiumContact tires while skating, and they performed admirably in the wet. I was able to drive quietly at speeds of 110 to 140 mph, even in the midst of a downpour. When I saw that a newer, sixth-generation model was available, I knew it was time to upgrade. In fact, at 100 mph, the car is already beginning to swim; at the same speed for the second season, the car surfaced multiple times despite being driven at 90 mph to 100 mph; I knew from experience that rubber reacts poorly in the rain. Extremely noisy, even more so than the previous generation. The sixth generation has improved wear resistance, yet I'd actually rather it wore out more quickly in exchange for better road grip. The new tire even has a side cut! The roads, pits, speed, and driving style are all the same as the previous generation, however the sidewall of the new tire has ruptured on the sixth version. This is the fifth generation of rubber, and I refuse to take it again.
