I have this dual strap version for use in the gym and for exercising in the garden. I just signed up and took a trip to the gym. I'll update/edit later if my mind changes. The orthosis did not slip at all during elliptical training. The straps kept it in place, unlike my old strapless neoprene sleeve. The lateral "springs" also seem to increase stability. I've put the bulkier/stronger/more expensive Corflex hinge on the VA and it's almost as good for support or pain relief. This cheaper ($23) option from McDavid is great if it lasts 6-12 months in harsh conditions. I didn't feel restricted when wearing it to the gym. I think it's the same as the Shock Doctor brand. When I unpacked the bracelet, it smelled of rubber. I watered it with Lysol and now everything is fine. I measured about 17-17.5/XL and it's quite comfortable. I can choose XXL if I need to replace this one. I think it would be possible to order and use straps for tensioning without any problems.
