Review on 57I 9500 Performance Intake Kit by Michael Cooper

Minor mods required but nice performance upgrade

Installed on a 2008 Audi A3 3.2, not perfect out of the box but there aren't many mods for this car. I had to sand down the plastic part of the old airbox, enlarge the compartment it attaches to a bit for cold air, and put in an extra screw/bushing to stabilize the new airbox. Having two people definitely helps, it took about two hours total. Results? Looks great under the hood. The already pleasant exhaust tone sounds like it has a little more resonance, definitely a little more when revving up. The power increase is most noticeable in the mid-range of 3200-4000 rpm. Not a breathtaking increase, maybe 8-10 hp, but definitely noticeable. Sorry, I don't have objective numbers and charts, but an AWD session on the dyno will last twice as long as a CAI. Fuel economy is also slightly better, getting an extra 20-30 miles on a single tank even on a few windy detours in sport mode. Verdict? Not a drop mod. Maybe it's for MkV VW R32 but not quite for A3. Other than that I'm very happy with it, it's one of the quickest and easiest ways to get the most out of your daily driving.

Pros
