This is a great square combination. It was square, judging by the square of the engineer I tested it with. It's lightweight and the stop slides very smoothly into the ruler's channel. The knob in the lock knob, or whatever it's called, you know, the orange thing, works fine, turns easily, smooth. No burrs or roughness in the ruler channel or in the screw device. The marker pin stuck at the bottom seems to be well attached. I don't think it's easy to detach from the instrument. Of course, the most important thing in a combined square are numbers and measured marks. First, they are where they should be. The one inch mark is actually exactly one inch. Nobody shaved off the 64th ending during production. Second, the numbers and markings are easy to read. For someone my age, that's a big deal. The numbers are the same size as most squares, but they are different. If I have one complaint, it's that one side of the ruler is metric. I suppose this is normal for those who need to switch between the old inch system and the new metric system. I don't like doing this and usually avoid the metric system. My saw isn't metric and I can't imagine having to convert numbers from one system to another. So half of the line is useless to me. Otherwise an excellent combination square AD2
