To be honest it works and if you don't have OCD like me then it will more than meet your needs. I bought this and OEM VW for another door. Mechanical movement is not the same. When you latch the door on the OEM side, the plunger is almost flush with the top of the door panel (as it should be). This is not the case when using a Dorman drive. I took it apart three times but I couldn't put it down. Complicated door handle cable adjustment is also required. OEM is not a problem. With the Dorman I had to adjust the cable 4 times before it opened 100%. happy car
